Congratulations to Canwest Elevator & Lifts for their installation of a large Artira in an open core stairway at the corporate headquarters of Zedi, Inc., a large company specializing in the manufacturing of diagnostic equipment for the Oil and Gas Industry.
This project was especially challenging, as the stair treads were not strong enough to support the lift and the stringers were inset. The solution was to provide custom tread supports attached to the stringer, directly underneath each support tower.
The folks at Zedi were not required to install a lift to comply with code. Nor did they do this to provide access for a specific employee. Nobody that currently works there is a wheelchair user. They installed the lift because they thought making their entire office accessible was the right thing to do. Good call!
The 2015 New American Home has been completed and was showcased in conjunction with the International Builders Show, recently held in Las Vegas. The home features some incredible cutting-edge technologies. Guests were allowed to book tours of the home while visiting the convention and these tours proved to be incredibly popular.
A Garaventa Home Elevator is showcased in The 2015 New American Home. It features an inline drive system, an 8 ft. tall cab, a powered cab gate and a mirror installed on the back wall.
A virtual website has been launched at www.newamericanhome2015.com . Click on the Garaventa Lift logo as it scrolls along the bottom of the page to see the elevator.
