Garaventa Genesis Opal vertical Platform lift provides ADA accessibility for outdoor music venue in Beaver Creek, Colorado
Congratulations and thanks to Richard Markow of Morningstar Elevator in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Their submission of photos from a recent installation has gained them the Garaventa Lift Project of the Month for May, 2014.
The lift is a custom-colored Genesis Opal installed at the Avon-Beaver Creek Outdoor Music Center near spectacular Vail, Colorado.
Beautiful aluminum-framed elevator cab with glass walls
Congratulations to Morning Star Elevator. Their installation of a 5-stop Elvoron Home Elevator in Breckenridge, Colorado has earned them their first Garaventa Lift Project of the Month: March, 2015. This elevator is installed beside the 4 O’Clock ski run at Breckenridge. The owner (who prefers to remain anonymous) hired Pinnacle Mountain Homes to build his “weekend playground cabin”. They opted for a glass and aluminum cab and put safety glass panels in the hoistway walls. This allowed them to create a primary design feature and a memorable experience for elevator passengers.
The elevator was configured by Sean Paxon and installed by Gregg Hildebrand and Jose Madrid of Morning Star Elevator.
Congratulations to Canwest Elevator & Lifts for their installation of a large Artira in an open core stairway at the corporate headquarters of Zedi, Inc., a large company specializing in the manufacturing of diagnostic equipment for the Oil and Gas Industry.
This project was especially challenging, as the stair treads were not strong enough to support the lift and the stringers were inset. The solution was to provide custom tread supports attached to the stringer, directly underneath each support tower.
The folks at Zedi were not required to install a lift to comply with code. Nor did they do this to provide access for a specific employee. Nobody that currently works there is a wheelchair user. They installed the lift because they thought making their entire office accessible was the right thing to do. Good call!
