We recognize the importance of elevators and lifts in today's design industry. Lifts and elevators can be an extraordinary feature added to a home or building that will enhance the life quality and safety of the end user.
At the conclusion of this program the designer will have gained knowledge and understanding over the following:
- ADA regulations for lifts and elevators.
- Basic product design and the different types.
- Code compliance issues.
- The application of lifts and elevators to solve accessibility problems.
- The challenges and solutions for evacuation of persons with disabilities.
Residential Elevators for an Accessible Home
Elevators, once associated mainly with commercial spaces, now enhance residential living by providing lifetime accessibility and convenience. Their affordability and convenience make elevators a valuable addition to homes, expanding the market for home resale.
At the conclusion of this program the designer will have gained knowledge and understanding over the following:
- Integrate a home elevator into a project’s design.
- Understand the various type of applications for home elevators.
- Identify common features and the two main types of drive systems.
- Analyze site requirements and project timelines.
- Familiarize key points relating to Codes and Regulations applicable to residential elevators.
