Vertical Lift for South San Fran Biz Center nets Nov POM

Our congratulations and appreciation go out to Tom Sena, Neil Hankin, Brian Trueman, David Lair and the rest of the great team at Hankin Specialty Elevator of Rancho Cordova, California.  Vertical Platform LiftTheir submission of photos from a new business park in South San Francisco, California has earned them another Garaventa Lift Project of the Month, this one for November, 2017.

The installation is a beautiful example of modern Wheelchair Liftaccessibility to a open mezzanine area using a Genesis Enclosure vertical platform wheelchair lift.  The lift is a fully code-compliant accessibility solution, easy to use and practical.  Vertical Lift Top LandingThe model being used is a Genesis Enclosure GVL-EN-144, mounted in a 3″ pit to allow for level access at the lower landing.  Everything about the lift is pretty standard, except that the architect chose to have the lift painted an optional RAL color (RAL 9003).

Oakland vertical lift nets August POM

This month we are profiling a beautiful Genesis Opal vertical lift. It is installed prominently at the new Wolf Restaurant in Oakland, California. Vertical Platform LiftThe Genesis Opal provides an ADA-compliant accessibility solution. Wheelchair users and other members of the public who have difficulty using stairs will be able to utilize it.

Vertical Platform Wheelchair LiftIn this case, the Opal is used at the front entrance to the restaurant because the main entrance is located above grade. This is a very common accessibility problem. The lift is a good solution because it takes up much less room than a switchback ramp. It is also easier to use for people in wheelchairs. Wolf Restaurant OaklandThe owners opted to include a beautiful, ornate steel gate at the entrance. The gate blocks off the lift after hours, protecting it from misuse or vandalism. The gate and the lift were painted to match.

Midwest Accessibility Captures July POM

A big thank you and congratulations to Martin Crowley and the crew at Midwest Accessibility Products of Cincinnati, Ohio. Their installation of three Genesis Enclosure IMG_0561-editvertical platform lifts has earned them their first Garaventa Lift Project of the Month for July, 2017.

The project was commissioned by the Housing Authority of Morehead, Kentucky. This follows an earlier project at the IMG_0236-editsame housing complex five years ago. At the time, they chose two Genesis Enclosures. Clearly, the experience was a good one as they opted to purchase three more. These are vertical platform lifts including IMG_0560-editfactory-made aluminum enclosures with bronze plexiglas enclosure panels. This represents a modular accessibility solution, requiring very little special preparation.
