The 2015 NAHB International Builders Show is only a couple of weeks away and the finishing touches are underway on the spectacular showpiece, The New American Home. The construction process is documented on this page: http://www.tnah.com/showpage_details.aspx?showPageID=26422
Our congratulations go out to Ross Elevator of Little Rock, Arkansas for capturing their first Garaventa Lift Project of the Month. The installation was at a gorgeous waterfront home located at historic Lake Hamilton in the Hot Springs area. The nearby area is well-known for a couple of reasons. Hot Springs National Park was the first ever National Park in the USA. Since the United States essentially invented the concept of National Parks, it could be that this is the oldest National Park in the world.
Another interesting fact about the area is that it was home to many notorious gangsters during the prohibition era of the 1920’s and early 1930’s. Local legend has it that Al Capone owned a home on Lake Hamilton and had a secret tunnel installed that went from his Living Room to his boat launch on the lake for a speedy exit.
Today, the area is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Arkansas.
Garaventa Lift is once again very proud to be associated with The New American Home, a state-of-the-art show home being built in conjunction with the International Builders Show. We originally became involved when another home elevator manufacturer fell through on their promise to provide an elevator for the project, apparently due to quality concerns with the product. The day it was supposed to ship, they informed the builder that they were pulling out of the project.
That left the builder in a very difficult position, as the time for ordering a replacement elevator was extremely tight. Fortunately, they contacted Garaventa Lift and we were able to come to the rescue, installing a brand-new Elvoron In-Line Home Elevator in record time. Needless to say, the organizers were very impressed with Garaventa Lift. We are now the preferred home elevator manufacturer for the National Association of Home Builders.
