This month we have selected a small Genesis Shaftway vertical lift installed at the very first Nutella Café in Chicago. Noah Szporn, head of marketing at Nutella North America was quoted in USA Today, “There’s an incredible dining culture in this city, and Nutella is all about the idea of sharing good food with friends and family. We thought that Chicago would be the perfect place to do that.”
The Garaventa Lift is painted white and includes power door operators on both the lower and upper landings. A small shaftway vertical lift is a common, user-friendly accessibility solution for many new retail and light commercial spaces.
Congratulations to Shannon Chasteen and the rest of the great folks at Garaventa Lift Illinois in Antioch. Their submission of photos from The Nutella Café in Chicago has earned them the Garaventa Lift Project of the Month for June, 2017.
Providing accessibility within a theater or lecture hall can be a challenge for even the most experienced accessibility contractors. Fortunately, the Garaventa GSL Artira represents a unique solution that can be made to fit over almost any set of stairs.
Designers at Douglas College in Coquitlam, BC were faced with this kind of challenge when looking to provide accessibility in a lecture theater. Garaventa was able to design an inclined platform lift solution that featured a drive box cabinet hidden behind a wall. This allows for the drive box to be located away from the pedestrian and lift traffic.
Congratulations to Don Sanchez, Barry Sherman and the rest of the great crew at Garaventa Lift in Port Moody, BC. Their installation of this GSL Artira inclined platform lift has earned them the Garaventa Lift Project of the Month for May, 2017.
Their submission of photos from the Nixon Residnce in Park City has earned them the Garaventa Lift Project of the Month for April, 2017.
The installation features an Elvoron hydraulic drive elevator with an aluminum and glass cab. The aluminum framing for the cab is painted black and the fixtures are standard brushed stainless steel. The Car Operating Panel (COP) features the optional integrated hands-free telephone, and the cab gate is powered to open and close automatically.
The hoistway walls also feature large panels of laminated safety glass to allow passengers to enjoy the view outside as they are traveling between floors.
