Congratulations to Hankin Specialty Elevators! Their installation of a snappy-looking, custom-colored Genesis Enclosure has earned them the Garaventa Lift Project of the Month for January 2015. The lift is a three-stop Genesis Enclosure with power door operators on each of the three landing entrances. The enclosure panels and the door panels feature safety glass inserts. It is installed at Tourneau in Las Vegas, the largest retail outlet in the world specializing in wrist watches.
Congratulations to Mitsubishi Electric de Colombia, also know as Melco. Their installation at the Centro Comercial Unicentro Mall in Bogata has earned them the Project of the Month for November, 2014.
A tower-mounted Xpress II allows for access to a cinema over a bright, colorful set of stairs with a mirrored adjacent wall and graphics painted on the stairs.
There are two lifts in this project. A Genesis Enclosure is also installed in the cinema lobby to provide access to a second seating level.
The overpass to the D Hotel in Las Vegas has a new Garaventa Genesis Enclosure wheelchair lift located adjacent to the stairs. The D Hotel, renovated in 2012, originally opened as the Sundance Hotel in 1980 but the owner was a mobster, so the local authorities made him use his minions to run the place. In 1983, the minions were charged with skimming. The mobster, a guy named Moe Dalitz, applied to take over running it himself, but the Gaming Commission stalled until he was persuaded to sell.
After a couple more owners and names, the hotel was sold to the current owners, Derek and Greg Stevens, in 2011. The renovated hotel now features The Longbar, reportedly the longest bar in the State of Nevada.
This installation was completed by Hankin Specialty Elevator. Congratulations to Neil, Brian, Dave and the rest of the crew. Thank you for submitting photos.
