Garaventa Style Doors/Gates and FramesThe Genesis Shaftway utilizes the Garaventa style door and gate. These non-fire rated doors and gates are pre-hung in an champagne colored anodized aluminum extrusion frame. The door and gate are constructed of matching aluminum extrusions with a powder coated 16 gauge galvanized steel kickplate and an upper panel (powder coated 16 gauge galvanized steel, bronze tinted (see picture shown on left), clear Plexiglas or laminated glass). Custom finishes are also available an an option. This non-fire rated door and gate are an attractive alternative to the industrial looking fire rated door. The door height is 2032mm (80") and the gate height is 1070mm (42 1/8") and both are available in 2 widths 905mm (35 5/8") or 1046mm (41 1/8"). |

Fire Rated Doors and FramesThe fire rated door and frame is completely pre-hung and is constructed of 16 gauge steel. The rigid foam filled door has a vision panel and a delayed action door closer. The door has a 1 1/2 hour “B” label fire rating with an integrated interlock system. This door frame comes standard with a two button keyed call station. See Fire Rated door clearances for more detailed information. The fire rated door and frame is available in both 906mm (35 5/8”) and 1059mm (41 5/8”) clear door widths. |
the Powerlock 2000 is the standard lock used in Shaftway units with Garaventa door/gates. The Powerlock 2000 is a 24 VDC solenoid powered interlock that is monitored by the safety circuit to ensure the Garaventa door/gate is properly locked during operation.
Garaventa lifts can be configured to accept interlocks and strikes
by others, typically in fire doors.

The Garaventa Power Door Operator (PDO) automatically opens the door/gate when the platform arrives at a landing. When the lift is at the landing, the passenger can press the call station button or gently pull on the door/gate to activate the door opener. Power door operators are recommending when the lift is equipped with a ramp. Certain applications may limit the use of this operator. Consult your authorized Garaventa representative for which power door operator is appropriate for your application.
