Artira Platforms - Standard Features and Options

Platform Sizes

To accommodate a variety of site conditions, Garaventa offers four different platform sizes, all with a rated load of 250kg (550lbs).

    bullet point 800 X 1220mm (31 1/2 X 48") - ADA Compliant
    bullet point 800 X 1050mm (31 1/2 X 41 3/8")
    bullet point 800 X 900mm (31 1/2 X 35 3/8")
    bullet point 700 X 750mm (27 1/2 X 29 1/2")

Platform Controls

The durable platform control panel is mounted to the platform hanger. The platform controls consist of the following items:

  1. Large easy to use illuminated Direction Control Buttons (standard)
  2. Emergency Stop Button (standard)
  3. Platform On-board Platform (optional)
  4. Illuminated Emergency Stop Button Alarm (optional)
  5. Keyed Operation – restricts the use of the lift only to passengers with a key (optional)
  6. Attendant Remote Control – a hand held control that plugs into a socket on the platform control panel and overrides the platform controls allowing an attendant to operate the lift. (optional)

Platforms - Standard and Optional Features

Curved Safety Arms

These fully automatic stainless steel safety arms further increase the safety of the passenger. When the arms of the lift are in the guarded position the top of the arm is 948mm (37 3/8") above the platform deck. The design of the arms does not take away from the clear platform size.

Grab Bar (standard)

Grab bar to assist passengers with loading and unloading.

Folding Seat (optional)

Designed for use by ambulatory passengers and is equipped with a safety belt.

Dek-Lite (optional)

Mounted just below the folding seat, this light illuminates the platform for safe loading and unloading, ideal for areas with poor lighting (only available with the folding seat option).

Safety Sensors

Bi-Directional Ramp Sensing (standard) – Detects obstruction on the stairs and ensures the wheelchair is centered on the platform deck.

Leading Ramp Sensors (standard) – When the lift is in the folded position and is called to or from the landing area the leading ramp is sensitive to obstructions.

Under Platform Sensing Plate (standard) – This sensing plate detects obstacles underneath the platform.

Side of Hanger Obstruction Sensing (optional) – Mounted on the side of the platform hanger, these sensors are designed to protect pedestrian traffic. This feature detects possible obstructions on the stairway while the lift turns the corner.

Under Hanger Sensing (optional) - This sensing plate detects obstacles underneath the platform.

Smooth Start and Stop (standard)

For passenger safety and comfort of the passenger the platform is programmed to slow to 50% of the normal travel speed in advance of the corners and landings.

Platform Folding (standard)

Once the passenger has departed the lift, the passenger can fold the platform at the call station without the use of a key.

Emergency Platform Folding (standard)

In an emergency the platform can be manually folded.

Auto Fold (optional)

The feature will allow the platform to automatically fold if left unattended for a period of time at the landing. This ensures the stairway will remain clear in the event someone forgets to fold the platform.

Pedestrian Safety Lights (standard)

This illuminated tube lighting located at the base of the ramps, visually alerts pedestrians of the platform’s location during travel, while still being discreet to the passenger.

Pedestrian Audio Alert (optional)

When the platform is folded up and traveling between stations, an audio chime on the platform is activated indicating the lift is in motion. The chime is deactivated when a passenger is using the lift.

Platform Lock (optional)

This lock secures the platform in its folded position protecting the lift from vandalism. Ideal for school applications.

Side Load (Optional)

Designed for confined lower landings spaces, this feature opens a side ramp simultaneously with both of the end ramps. This allows the passenger to wheel onto the platform diagonally, offering easier access and reducing the required loading and unloading clearances.

Fire Alarm Integration (optional)

This option is designed to interface with the building fire safety system, this service interrupts power to the lift when the alarm sounds. This ensures the lift will not obstruct stairway traffic during an evacuation. If the lift is in use when the alarm sounds, it will continue to a designated landing.
